bulge on my bonnet

Post by petroscf »

I found a small bulge on my bonnet, exactly at the area over the highest point of the strut bar (which is exactly under there)
Ok, this means GREEK ROADS !!!! (and lowered E21, of course)
However, could this be also meaning it's time to replace my bilsteins?

Your strut brace hitting the bonnet shouldn't have anything to do with your suspension.

Your inner fender and strut top should not be moving relative to the bonnet otherwise your car will be falling apart in a matter of days. Strut bar may be on the high side, have seen that before.

Open the bonnet and check the 3 nuts that hold the brace to the top of the front struts. If they are tight, the brace cannot move and hit the bonnet. If they're loose you need to tighten them as your front suspension will move about all over the place.

I guess it's still just the brace being too high as happend more often, and that you just woke up to find out it had been rubbing the bonnet for ages already.
