When putting a 284 schrick camshaft into a 325i head is it neccesary to upgrade the valve springs aswell? schrick reccomend it but why? what is the difference, risk etc?
When the block has been decked by 2mm is there any way around a vernier pulley to set the timing?

I have a 282° dbillas cam in my 2.7 conversion and I used the upgraded springs, if your car isn't going to rev higher than 6500 rpm than this is not really needed (never bad to upgrade them anyway) if its going to rev like my 2.7 stroker up to 7000rpm than it is best to upgrade.
As for the adjustable pulley you will certainly need that because the ignition is fix on the head and the distance between cam shaft pulley and crackshaft pulley is also fix due to the lenght of the timing belt .. if you change that distance by 2mm than you can not go around the adjustable pulley otherwise ignition will be set to late

.. timing belt will be ok because of the tensioner
