Its a 320A, done around 120k miles, and has been in a garage since 2000. Bodywork is pretty good, just seemingly needing two rear arches and possibly a sill. Plenty of the electrics dont work, but it hasnt been investigated yet. Unfortunately I cant start working on it until I finish my current project, but its safely tucked away
Engine fitting virtually finished. New servo hose to go, I will need to put the battery in the boot. As you know, the smallest things can take ages. It took me 3 hours to make a satisfactory fitting so the the E21 throttle cable operated correctly.

Over the last week or so I have dropped the back axle and petrol tanks, so that I can start on the ( rather more than anticipated) welding repairs. Biggest surprise was that its had sills done previously, and a few nasty bodges too. Amazing what underseal can hide !!
hello.can you tell me if the m42 engine it's fix perfect on the e21 engine suport or you have to modify the engine suports? i ask you because i want to put an m43 engine and i want to know what i have to do.
Not really. Firstly, my subframe was for a 6 cylinder, my M42 engine came from an E36 coupe and the "arms" were too wide for the E21, so I had to get ones from an E30. When the engine was in the right place, I had to fabricate new supports for the rubber mounts ( which were original E21) The gearbox support came from an E30 325i ( I believe) which only required very minor adjustment to fit. The good news was that the E36 propshaft fitted perfectly, only needing a new centre bearing support to be welded in
