Viewed the dark blue 316 thats on ebay today.

As i'm working in Bristol, I went to have a look at the 316 thats on ebay and I think its on Car and Classic.

I'm sure some of you lot must be watching it on ebay.
The guys told me me that he wanted £2000. It has had some paint in places, there are signs of over spray on the the rub strips. There are a few rust bubbles, but not many. The guy has had the near side front jacking point welded, with a new jacking point been fabricated. The nastyest bits are in the boot, there are about 5 or 6 welds. They are solid enough when I tapped, but they look a bit gunky?! They look like they have been smeared with panel bonding stuff(?), they have been painted body colour but the paint is cracking. ? It put me off really. The driverside footwell carpet is damp. The black sills are sticky like they are painted with Underseal. The guy said that the previous owner had the sills replaced, and the join on the edge of the door theshold is a bit untidy (you can tell thats where they joined the new sill there). It has a blow in the exhaust.
The car does look very tidy and the interior is in very good condition. The engine sounds good. I didnt drive it but he took me round the block in it, and it seemed nice. It did seem to make a clonk when he released the brakes, but I wasn't sure and its really hard to tell when I wasnt driving.
Its got 10months MoT, and no tax.
I love the colour, but I'n not sure its worth the money? What do you guys think?

Hi mate.
He sent me photos on this. I wasnt 100% sure hense i never made an offer.
As he told me he would take an offer as he wants to finish of an audi.
Try bidding him in the b####ks if you are keen on it. That way the money you save you can put the car right.

Looks pretty clean and shiny on the pics but I'd want to make sure the bonding and undercoating isn't covering up some surprises.

There was a really nice light blue 316 on eBay a week or 2 ago. Rare colour and very good throughout. Sold for £1 951
