320 E21 Manual/Auto

Post by boldy205 »

Hi, i'm pretty new to BMWs, E21s in particular.
Im looking at buying an E21, and it seems a fair few are autos. How different are the two, are the shells/mounts different?
Is it just a case of a manual box, flywheel, clutch, pedal box etc needed to convert?

Many thanks,

Matt

It's a doddle Matt. I'll see if I can lay my hands on the bits you'll need and let you know when I call.

no difference apart from the strut tower has a clip to hold the clutch reservour. but apart from that no other differences i believe. oh dont forget you need the "L" shaped bracket that holds the rear of the shifter up.

Well you'll need a gearbox too. The 5-speeds are in short supply now.
