Power steering lines

Flushed with success in passing it's MOT (with no advisories!) the Baur has celebrated by splitting the bottom power steering reservoir to pump pipe e_surprised

According to the online catalogue this is a 12 x 18 pipe. This is the same size as the breather pipe on the fuel tank which I replaced recently with proper fuel resistant pipe.

Can I use this pipe or is there something special about the power steering pipes (high pressure/fluid resistant etc.) ?

That's great thanks.

How much fluid do I need for a good flush? I believe it's Dextron II ATF ? Any other alternative?

What else do you want? Most ATF is Dexron DII spec so you can buy it on every corner of the street.

I've never had to buy any so didn't know what the availability was. I'm sure I'd read that Dex 2 had been discontinued. New hi tech oil doesn't work well in old cars & feared the same might be true of ATF.

Will a litre be enough? I want to give the pump a good flush through.
