Intrax Suspension.
Just noticed Intrax list the E21 as an option in ther list. 1k2, RS & RSA models available.
See here:

Have not seen this brand mentioned on here before, just Gaz and ground control.

Already sent an email asking, and if donor hubs are required.e21-Mark wrote:Wonder how much they cost?
Dont think they will be cheap, from what i can tell they are comparable to Nitron.

Jeremy had them made a couple of years ago:

I took the corner at high speed, came in the ditch, drove straight through a garden, flipped over 4 times and then I lost control of my steering-wheel!

Is that an e21? If so, any more details on brakes and hub conversion?
Re: Intrax Suspension.
the rears look like the lack a bit of adjustability for a lower ride height.
lovely suspension though, at least on this system you wont have a floppy spring. the major drawback with the gaz stuff is that you have to sacrifice spring tension for ride height

Re: Intrax Suspension.
Didn't you fit helper springs?
Re: Intrax Suspension.
no didn't need to - I just run the collar at the point the spring gets loose but not till it comes out the seat.

Re: Intrax Suspension.
Got an email back but they wanted to know the use? street, track day, rally or full race before they could price me anything.
I asked for street/trackday, and I knew it would come up so i asked them to confirm max/min and recomended ride heights for those that like to scrape their oil pans.

Re: Intrax Suspension.
For your BMW E21 we have our 1K2 and 4-way system available which I’ll explain in this mail
As you probably know all our shocks are custom made. We only have the raw materials and start building after order. This way we can make sure that the shocks will fit the needs of the driver and car the best. So if you decide to order with us we would like to get some extra information from you, things like:
For what purpose will your car be used (street, trackday, race, rally etc. or a combination)?
Ø Race
What type and size tire will the car drive on?
What size rim do you use?
Any other change (compared to standard) on the car that can influence the handling of the car (weight, power, roll cage etc)?
This info doesn’t have to be exact of course but the more info the better the set will be.
IMPORTANT: we need your original struts to build our system on.
Our 1K2 system is equipped with externally adjustable damping and adjustable in height (only front).
All intrax shock absorbers are custom made. Which means that the basic setting is adjusted to the needs per individual customer. From this basic setting the customer can use a knob to adjust the setting to the road and weather conditions (smooth, bumpy, wet, cold dry etc). With this one knob you can set different damping settings. When you adjust the knob, both rebound and compression will be adjusted in the right proportion. This unique system makes it very easy to always find the correct setup for the circumstances at hand. Finally the damping system is equipped with a heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.
For the front we have an 45mm upside down shock absorber. This combination gives a lot of extra installation stiffness (les flex) in your front Mac Pherson suspension. This not only improves the grip and handling of the car but also the feeling that the driver has with its car.

For the rear we have an 40mm damper with separate spring.

4-Way
The 4-way is our top product. The damper is adjustable in the low- and high-speed compression, rebound and the overall range of the low-speed compression, these adjustments can all be adjusted separate. Unique on the Intrax system is that all adjustments operate stand alone meaning none of the changes in adjustment will influence each other making it very good to fine tune the setup. Also each click will make a difference when adjusted. Finally the damping system is equipped with a heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.

Camberplates (only in combination with the welding plates)
Our 12mm aluminium camberplates, compared to the original rubber topmounts which allow a lot of unwanted movement, will greatly improve ride handling because of the extra control over the damping and steering. The plates allow stepless adjustment in t caster and camber . For the camberplates we use the best materials. The bearing is enclosed in a stainless steel holder. The aluminium plate is made from "aircraft-Quality" material "7075"

Options:
Black Titan
The shock absorber set can be equipped with the “Black Titan” coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod. Black Titan is an development from military aircraft industry. Their engines must perform under the toughest conditions, they must function from +40°C up to -30°C. After they fitted their engines with Black Titan, the service interval was increased by 100%. Intrax decided that what is good for their airplane engines must be good for our shock absorbers. The Black Titan coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod, cannot rust and is extreme hard and smooth. The friction is lowered with these piston rods, reducing oil temperatures, improving traction and extending life time under the severest conditions.
ARC (Anti Roll Control)®
After years of development Intrax did it. They developed a unique way to drastically reduce unwanted roll (lateral and longitudinal). Your car will have the comfort and all the other benefits of driving with “soft” springs like extra grip and traction, until you take a corner or need to brake then ARC® will control ride height with the feel of a sport/race/rally setup. While driving over a curb, through a putt hole or over jumps the suspension will absorb them like driving with soft springs. At the same time ARC® will make sure that your suspension will roll or pitch minimally. So for the first time you can have the benefits of a soft spring set up without the disadvantages of too much body roll and/or collapsing suspension in putt holes, jumps, curbs.
Weldingplates
We also have welding-plates which you can weld in the domes of the vehicle.
You have then to cut off the original domes and replace it by the thicker (5mm thick) welding plates. Because these plates are flat, you get more adjustment range for the camber and caster. Also, the car is a lot stronger and prevents the domes from tearing.

Picture 7; Example of a welding plate weld in the car
Spring rate adjuster
Your system can also be equipped with a spring rate adjuster on each shock. The choice for hard or soft springs is an important setting. This stiffness is defined as the spring rate. Intrax now delivers a spring rate adjuster that solves the problem of have to change the springs to change the stiffness, and enables an optimum setting under all conditions, reducing setup time and purchase costs. By sliding the spring further into the spring rate adjuster, a part of the windings is excluded of the spring action and the spring becomes stiffer.

Whoever goes out and spends 5k on suspension for an e21 - I would have to have admiration for them, but you would be crazy to do that.
