Engine conversions, Easiest swap for a 320/6 and how much?

Hi,

My e21 needs a bit of engine work to get it running nice again, the carb needs rebuilding or replacing and it needs new ignition, plugs, leads, rotor arm and cap.
Its a 320/6 78 model but with the price of a replacement weber dgas 38 and the ignition its over £600, thats with out a rolling road tune up.

So I been tempted to change the engine but I don't know what seems to be the best option, value for money, or value for power.

I read up here and some of the posts on here too,
http://www.fritzsbits.co.uk/shop/engine-conversions/

Mine is a 4 speed manual

The only negative I can see is mine engine is only on 67,000 genuine miles original engine.
I appreciate I will need brake and suspension and exhaust upgrades so exclude that from the list for now.

Any input would be great thanks :)

Cheers
Craig

Thanks Nas, the e30 engines are cheaper than the price of a dgas carb

Sorry few questions i'm thinking out aloud

What radiator/fan would I use
Would I need to change the rear diff and gearbox?
Would the exhaust manifolds fit to the existing system?

few more would I need a different fuel pump
and my brake servo is mounted behind the head lamp
