help on setting up distributor timing after engine rebuild.

So, almost finished rebuilding my m20b23 engine today (has the distributor on the side behind the alternator not at the top on the cam gear as in other more modern m20's), but after installing the timing belt and aligning the marks for the crank and cam gears, i''m stuck on how to align the distributor to time the spark....have any of you got a link to a write up on how to set up the distributor with piston #1 @ TDC ? thanks for your help
