E21 roof change

First off I'm new so Hi to you all!

I'm hopefully buying my first classic BMW (having owned many modern BMWs) in the shape of a E21 323i.
The roof is rusty surrounding the sunroof and the sunroof doesn't open.

The owner has suggested that the cassette is heavily corroded & the roof skin has gone from the inside. He has mentioned the drains are running free.

I know I need to expect the worst and a replacement skin will most likely be required. Main question is are the pattern skins available from Germany any good, what sort of job/cost can I expect from a bodyshop.

Would you delete the sunroof or keep original?

Dont have a sun rood on my E21 - but had a sunroof on my old Mini....Had the roof lining changed and it still leaked

If I were you I would delete the sunroof but that's my personal taste and opinion.
