E21 sunroof drain pipe into sill redirect

Hi

I was just wondering what is the best method of moving the sunroof drain pipe to point out of the arch or the front of the sill?

Out of interest where should the pipe drain out of?

Where are the drain holes on the sill? I'll check they are not blocked at the same time.

Thanks

The front drainpipe comes through the A-pillar and then into the sill.
Sometimes the E21 has holes at the front of the sill (just behind the fender) that would be the best place to let the hosedrain out i think.

I've just inspected that very issue myself today. I'm going to reposition the exit of the pipe to exit into the wheel/fender well, will drill a hole if required as doesn't appear to be one there on mine. I also couldn't see any drain holes on the actual sill, appears the water just sits in there!?

I`m gonna use this hole. The sills have a couple half moon like shaped openings near the flange under.

Good info, is the original pipe secured to the sill or can it be pulled back up and pushed out into the wheel arch?

Or does it need to be cut if you go that route and extended?

Pipe is just loose, only attached on the sunroofcassette.

Great I just removed the pipe from the sill and put them both into a plastic bottle to see if it was the cause of my leak, within 10 minutes of a shower i had half inch of water in each bottle

There you go! Now get it out of the A pillar!

We had a heavy down pour today and there was a puddle by the accelerator pedal.
The two bottles where 3/4 full so it's not the sun roof drains on the front.

I haven't got any wet on the front sound proof by the bulk head.

Quick update, it looks like my rear sun roof drains into the sill as well.
Where should the rear ones drain out to?

Cheers

That can't be. C pillar is not open, and if, you should see it running behind the side card under the side window. It should get out behind the hofmeister bend. So behind the chrome and plastic behind the side window.

Thanks, what I could see was the water building up within the sill and then coming out of the hole near the pedal.

The drain pipe is still in the plastic bottle and I can see that filling up

Hi

A bit of progress, for some reason it still seems to leak water from the sun roof drain but it's going direct into the sill.

The floors dry but the sill is still getting quite a bit a water in it.

Any ideas where it might be getting in?

Thanks

Where the cable goes into the sill, should be a rubber o-ring that leads the water around the hole. Could that be missing?

It's strange at the moment the pipe does not go in to the sill at all.

Where is the rubber o ring you mention?
