Hi everybody. I have been searching, and it seems all I can find are dead links or the diagrams for 320's. I have a haynes manual for the E21, but the entire 323i section switches over to the e30. I am chasing about a million different shorts in the system...

Thanks Jeroen. Love to become a VIP member, money sent! As for the LHD wiring harness, if you do end up coming across that LHD harness let me know. I still do have faith that mine could be salvageable but only a little bit of time will tell. Looking forward to viewing the content. Thanks again.

Do you know if there is a difference between the wiring diagram for RHD vs LHD, or is the information generally the same?

Well the layout should be the same, but cable lengths will be different for several items. Both diagrams are in the factory manual btw! Was that manual of help?

Hope that it's okay jumping onto this thread as I didn't want to start another one. I am having my RHD '81 323i Baur stripped for a respray, the engine is out. As I had been having several issues with electrics, mainly with slow wipers, poor lights, erratic heater and various things like that, I wanted to know if you would advise changing the wiring loom? If so where can I get one or will it have to be a bespoke remanufacture?

hi folks, does anybody have a wiring diagram for a 318 LHD, '81 modell?

Having installed a 318 loom in a 323i can tell you that the differences are very minimal, from memory the headlights, fuel pump, engine loom and the brake pad sensor for the rear pads, indeed all these connections were in my 318 loom so it was all plug and play. The fuse box is different and I replaced mine with a new one, still available from BMW. Replacing the fuse box fixed all the problems I had with lights not working.
