At long last my Baur should be going for MOT in the next week or so, and I need to insure it, so any ideas please on an insurance value. No pictures at the moment , but I would describe it as
320 Baur, now fitted with 1.8 M42 engine and matching gearbox
As far as I can tell, no rust. New sills and wheel arches were fitted, repairs done to boot floor, anything dodgy looking was cut out and replaced. Bumpers are shiny but a bit wavy from small knocks, New rear plastic back window fitted to a good hood.
Interior tidy but has E30 sports seats fitted ( on new rails on the floor so theyre nice and low ) E30 Mtec steering wheel.
Mechanically, every bush is new, high ratio steering fitted, brakes and flexies all new (323i discs + calipers front)new standard shocks
I have painted the car myself in ( VW Volcano Red from memory ) Not a concours job, as I still intend to use the car as my daily, so maybe a 10 foot paint job
What do you think ?
Thanks in advance, Neil

Re: Whats it worth ?
Think it would be best to get an estimate from some people in the UK, values are way different across the pond. So, anyone?!

Hi Neil, I personally like the sound of most of your mods - others might not. Pictures really do paint a thousand words. If you post some up you'll make it easier for people to guesstimate a price

Re: Whats it worth ?
Taken this morning as it was going away to get its exhaust made - which will be a nice stainless 2" job

Thats it getting wet for the first time in 15 years. It was last taxed in 2000 - but Ive only owned it for 3 and a bit years, and still never driven it properly !
Oh and thats Bilt Hambers cavity wax on the sill !
Edit I realise that keeping it standard would probably increase its "value" but I was building a car I could use on a daily basis. Its the first time in 40 years of building cars I have fitted a lower cc engine. Must be getting old !

Re: Whats it worth ?
Wet weather is probably the worse time to take photos
interior shots would be useful too. But it looks lovely and I like the iS badge - nice touch!

Thank you. I will get better photos soon, including interior. Especially once it's been cleaned and polished !
