Type 1 mirror cover plate removal.

Post by Bigmeat »

Please can someone tell me how to remove the triangular mirror blanking plates on a type 1? I've tried removing the 2 screws but no matter how much I faff with it I just can't get them out.
Please tell me I don't have to remove the glass or anything like that...
I just want to get them out so I can respray them as they're a little tatty.

They are glued to the frame which holds the rubber. So screws out and rubber out of the way, I think maybe also the doortrim of and some brute force and carefull use of a screwdriver.
