I am in the process of getting my E21 back on the road after it has been standing for 16 months whilst I was away. My wipers only ever worked on full speed (which was a snail's pace) so I will order a replacement from BMW. However there are 2, a Bosch and an SWF.
They are the same price ±£5 so is there any difference in performance? Is one more reliable? Why were there 2? Was the Bosch on the 320 & 323 and the SWF on 315, 316 318?
Just wondering really.
The root cause of me not having intermittent or half speed wipe was due to that brush burning out inside the motor. Unfortunately it has scorched the mounting board so badly that I can't mount another brush. This is pretty annoying as I need to buy a whole new wiper motor assembly simply because the mounting board is burnt (I have tried to find replacements and get it fixed but with no luck).
