BMW 320i fuel pump issues

Post by Nibroc08 »

Hello, recently bought a 1982 bmw 320i. First thing that I did was turn my key and didn’t hear my fuel pump so I replaced it along with the fuel filter, figured since it was sitting awhile I should just do it. Ever since then, my engine will turn over but chug for a second or two and then turn off. I still do not hear any humming from the pumps and I tried bridging it on the relay and I’m just at a lost at what to do

Hi, welcome here! I'd do some measuring for starters. See if the pump is powered, so you can identify if you have a power supply or a fuel pump issue. Measure at the pump during a starting attempt.
