Late model E21 323i, 8/82 is the build date. Passed 300,000km before i took it off the road. Factory 5 speed manual (same gearbox as in the E30 actually), currently going through massive work with a carb fed M30 powering it.
These are pics before i really started to rip into the car, it looks a bit sad for itself at the moment, i just ripped it's heart back out after driving it to work last week (it used nearly 70L of fuel!) to measure and fit up the new brakes (which didnt fit) and due to the issues with the brakes the entire front end is in pieces on the floor
Currently making components to strengthen the chassis, gusset panels, subframes, etc, the M30 provides a lot more torque than the E21 is used to handling. Rebuilt a 260 gearbox with straight cut gears (need to get a bellhousing made), currently hacking my original struts to pieces in order to make the coil overs for the front. Purchased brake kit (320mm ATE rotors, 4 piston FAG calipers, none of it fits under 15 inch wheels
), and im working with my suspension guy to try and dial out some of the oversteer the E21 is known for.
