finally in a beamer

Post by shanesaw »

hey guys, i just bought my first bmw. ive been really into volkswagens since i got my liscence and due to pay increase i can now afford what ive always wanted.
so i looked around and a couple weeks ago i found a mint black 1980 320i with 129,000 original km. i found this beauty a block from my house. i guess it was always there but it was hidden under a car cover for a loong time. he wanted $3000 but i talked him down to $2000 because the ignition switch was screwed up, so i pushed it home pulled the cover off the column and the clip on the switch broken so i wasnt sitting in the cylinder properly. so i stuck a key in the switch and fired it up.

it came with a BAE turbo dealership intalled, a different front bumper (not sure what its from), some ROH mesh rims. and bilstein lowering struts and springs
and since i bought it ive put in a Momo Alpina steering wheel (not in pics) and a leather B&M shift knob.
please excuse the dirtyness i just got it and was super stoked

That's a Motorsport front bumper you've got there. Might just be the most desireable bumper for an e21! If you can get your hands on a Euro rear bumper and a car wash, it's complete 8) It even has folding rear windows!

Wow, great find. After you detail this thing your first purchase should be a wide band O2 meter.

There are a few upgrades that will help you extract a lot more hp and reliability from your turbo system. Bolt in a volvo 240 turbo air flow meter, fuel distributor, boost retard ignition canister and boost sensing WUR and you'll be able to fuel up to 220 hp. The best part is the stuff just bolts in. There are a few other CIS turbo guys over on bimmerforums and there is a TON of tuning info. check it out.
