High time for an update, and some BIG photos!

Post by MadMax »

Right, about time I write up on the progress I've made to the 323i.

As you know, I bought it off Jules in February 2008. He'd done all the hard work (Recaro N77s retrimmed to match interior, Alpina alloys, new front wings, resprayed doors and rear panels), leaving me with a beautiful car that just needed a few touches to suit my taste.

Unfortunately I didn't have much spare cash in 2008, due to four holidays and my daily driver blowing up and needing replacement.

So 2009 saw some funds heading towards the E21...

BMW motorsport front springs (20mm drop)
Sachs/Boge gas shocks all round (MUCH smoother)
Hartge front strut brace
Becker Mexico Pro CD player (came out of my dead Audi)
New viscous fan clutch (can now sit in traffic all day long no sweat)
To the paintshop to sort a few small rust spots, and debadge the boot
Osram nightbreaker bulbs
Amber indicators back on (sorry Jules!)
Toyo Proxes up front, re-balance wheels with sticky weights on the inside
Euro style pressed plates (with UK font so road legal)
dechrome that blanking panel thing on the passenger door handle
professional valet the interior
Sonus claybar, Autoglym SRP, and Dodo Juice soft wax for the paintwork

Gonna stop spending for now, need to have "works outstanding" to keep me interested! Future plans include new chromework all round, new headlights, upgrade speakers, a trip to "Rustmaster", refurb alloys, and contemplating fitting a sportier exhaust.

So enough of the words, let's get to the pictures. Apologies if they get a little arty, I've been spending too much time on "German Automobile Photography" on Flickr!

And compliments from another Jeroen as well, beautiful car and great photography!

All I'd like to add to the list is the black stickers for the deep front spoiler (fake air vents or something)

I'd say it's ready for a trip to Holland for the big meet in Sept!
Regards/groeten, Jeroen

Remember the past owner did a good job, but this is stunning. And pics belong in an art gallery!

Your interior is sweet too!
Is that a standard interior colour/fabric?

Yep it's standard inside. Jules had the Recaros retrimmed to match, it's not orignal BMW cloth but you have to look VERY close to notice. Had a interior valet, but the door cards are still grubby looking so might need to replace them at some point. I'm guessing they'll be virtually impossible to find!

Aw shucks, get outta here!

Jules- yes, those rims really do make the car. Think they may need another refurb at some point though...
