fuel gauge issues...

Hi,
Popped down the shop in the 316 earlier and found the fuel gauge to be not working....
Any ideas not had chance to check anything as its dark lol

if its one of the fuses, it will be on the top row. i cant tell u which one as my fuse box lid is in german!

lol goddam fuses this bloody thing blows fuses every 5 mins! Ill ava gander 2moz!

yea. you need to take each fuse out, then with a small bit of sandpaper give each terminal a clean, or go maplin. buy electronic contact cleaner then spray the whole can on it!

It would be fuse number 14. But if this is the problem some other things must not work also.

The things for fuse 14 are:
*All the warninglights of the dash.
*Temp. gauge.
*reverselights
*Rev.meter.

What i had more than once is that the ground contact behind the dash is oxidated. Once it was a problem at the levelmeasurement at the fueltank.

Im gunna ava look at the earth connection behind the dash as the dash lights still dont work!

about every third time i check the levels, i take the fuse box lid off and give all the fuses a few twists each!

I'm still hunting for brass or copper bullet fuses as a solution to the corrosion.

I am having a similar problem also with my fuel guage and rev counter. All the needles go crazy up and down etc mainly the fuel guage- How can I locate and identify the ground contact behind the dash?

Where can I buy bullet fuses? I've not had one go in the past 14 months but I don't have any spares so I think it's only a matter of time now.. Had a look on ebay but couldn't see owt.
