not much happening as in working and modding the car..... im just using it tbh!

ive still got the arch repair panels to do.
passed its mot last week, just needed a steering rack boot and a small patch welding on the floor.

im thinking of getting a cat cam fast road/rally thing cus lets face it, im never guna be able to afford to turbo it this side of 2020!! a cam i can afford.

Cam is a good idea imo. I'm sure you'd make good use of a bit more go!

only thing that concerns me with a cam.... is if takes useful low end torque away.
it was noticeable in my old mk2 golf (kent fast road) that it had less torque low down in the revs. ??
cus (if my understanding is correct) at the end of the day perforamce cams just optimse the cam timing to move the power up the rev range at the cost of low end grunt by having more lift and duration with slightly more overlap?

I think Cat do a ''high torque'' profile so might be worth giving them a call.

My pal stuck a catcam in his e30 and luvs it! Sure he said it gave him more low down grunt too.

i dunno yet. body work needs work whether im keeping or selling. cus its looking like a shed! i need to sort out fitting an aftermarket rad. ive got 3 radiators and they all leak cus there all 30 years old! could do with some nicer bucket seats and branded harnesses (not just cheap tat).

i'll be wanting £1500+ if i do sell.

used some m10 caoch bolts from wickes to bolt it down, still need a welder to weld the "feet" strengthening plates to the floor tho but its all solid as it is for now. need to order a pair of sills to weld in to repair that dint in the sill and i still havent done the rear arch panels ive got from ages ago. im guna buy myself a welder when i get paid. then we'll see about these jobs!

got a drifting weekend planned @ brawdy in sw wales on 7-8th of may!

John

[irritating git mode] You need proper tensile bolts for the cage, and without the plates welded to the chassis it can just pull out if you actually do have a prang. Until those bits are done it really is just a show cage. [/irritating git mode]

Why no bonnet on the drifty pics??

Methinks combination of yourself needing to weld something, and Dr Gonzo having a welder that needs setting up and playing with could be made to coincide to get those plates welded in for the cage.
