6 cyl ally rad.

Post by murran »

hi chaps,
as of a few days ago.... ive been in contact with a company making ally rads/silicone hose kits and stuff via email reguarding then making a direct replacement ally rad for 6 cyl. e21s. they seem more than interested in adding it to their range...... ive sent them a diagram with detailed diamentions and some photos of one of my leaky rads. waiting on them getting back to me on a unit price and time scale.
looking at their other rads on their ebay shop it'd be about £130-£150.....
its a chineze ebay based seller http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/chracingradiator
im thinking group buy here to bring it down a bit?
does anyone else make a replacement ally rad?

waddu fink? :?

murran would it be an idea to make it wider than standard allows? Better cooling?

Alloy rads are more efficient anyway so making it larger would probably mean your engine ran too cool.

Nas has a big rad, ask him where/how much - think it's for an escrote but looks a perfect fit

AH fabircations made mine and it fits into the standard 323i space inbetween the lights. - its not cheap though but its high quality and works brilliantly.

+1 on the artwork :p

What are the benefits of an ally rad vs. normal rad besides the looks? Does it cool exceptionaly better?

Yes, plus most of our rads are getting on a bit and probably aren't working as well as they could. :D

Tnx for your reply Mark.

I'm interested if all works out, must be an exact without having to do mods yourselve.

I can ask on the Dutch forum if there are more people interested in a groupbuy?
