Post by Irish_chris »

ok so the battery in my e21 is pretty flat so i took the brand new battery i had in my e30 and tried to turn the car over and the starter just 'clicked'

is this the battery's fault?

Bad ground cables in the engine bay indeed, engine to chassis on intake side and I believe head to firewall exhaust side. Also, do a turning session, you'll get used to that being an E21 owner: corroded contacts may cause fuses to fail or at least no let through enough current. Give your fuses a few turns to clean up, check relays. In the end, it could be bad wiring to the starter but I'd check in this order...
