M10 Oil Pump

Post by Reck »

Currently rebuilding an M10 as some know. I could shim the existing pump but I'd much rather have a new oil pump in there. BMW don't have any, W+N want £300 or something daft, Linwar/Jaymic/Fritz have none.

Any ideas? Someone mentioned an S14 2.3 pump but I think the pickup tube is too long for the standard M10 sump... ? Don't even know if these pumps are any easier to get hold of.

Don't they are more common, new they are just as expensive and used ones to sometimes suffer from wear on the return valve. A M10 pump through eBay or some other breaker?

You can get a recon one from somewhere like euro car parts. That's where I got the one for the slug rebuild. Original will almost certainly be fine, just use shims to get the chain tensioned properly.

What I did was bought new pump from SWAG and after gave it to inspection and rebuild. Now I have some 3bar preasure at idle with warm 10w60 oil. Original was too much worn.
