M60 into a e21
Hi Guys
Thinking about doing a M60B40 swap into an e21.Has anyone done this swap? if so is it still an enjoyable drive? like is that too much power for a e21?
Cheers James

done in our country too
Re: M60 into a e21
Custom engine mounts.
X5 exhaust manifolds
Brake bias pedal box (floor mount)
And you will be needing a decent rear diff / driveshafts
Lowering blocks for front anti roll bar mounts.
I reckon you won't need to space frame it and it might just fit.

Bollocks! I was hoping you'd HAVE to spaceframe the front to make it fit, but judging by that pic, it fits just fine! And there's an E39 540i in my local scappy too......
Now I have evil, and expensive plans forming. Thanks Croma_man.

To be a geek it's been done loads as the m20 was called the m60 when it was first out in the e21
but about 10 years it was done in the states

Got to love them trumpets,I did drop a m60 in a scrappy e21 to have a look at space and it fits.....just :p.
NAS80: I wasn't planning on running the sway bar, just coil overs with support rods going to the sway bar mounts.or is it better to try and fit the sway bar in ?

as the sway bar and the strut bar, you'll need both to get the front to go where you want, I had big trouble with my M20 engine which is not so heavy as the M60, after fitting the good stuff, car handles, before it was all over the place.

ok,spacers sound the easiest way to make the swaybar fit with the sump being in the way.or modify the sump at the frontcroma_man wrote:as the sway bar and the strut bar, you'll need both to get the front to go where you want, I had big trouble with my M20 engine which is not so heavy as the M60, after fitting the good stuff, car handles, before it was all over the place.
