Doesn't look too bad! And yes, the main thing is that the engine is sound, everything else (apart from rust) is generaly cosmetic.

Any interior photos?

yeah,my friend got it off ebay for £99.00!
64000m on the clock, and flew through the m.o.t with flying colours!
12000 miles later though, she needs some love.
new rear suspension, new cv joints, new brakes, new lights, and some other little things you would expect.
hardly any rust at all anywhere,so worth keeping alive i think.
thanks for looking.

yeah,the interior...
it isnt too good really.the foam inside the seats is turning to dust,so there is a constant layer of orange powder on the floor.the drivers seat has half worn away and my electric windows dont work.haha.
plenty of little jobs to keep me busy.
ill probably just get some sheepskin seat covers made up.
give it the proper era look.
hah
ill sort some pics.
are my elecy windows standard? on a 316?
and were the single headlamps an option when originally purchased?

Hi Trigg,

I dont think that the electric windows were standard on a 316 - they may have been installed by the dealer when the car was new, or anytime afterwards.

The seats don't sound too good . Maybe you can get some second-hand ones from the wreckers. Otherwise everything else seems normal for an old car!

The single headlamps were standard on the 316 and 318. I never used to like them, but they have grown on me. All in all I like the little 316s and 318s - if you can find a good one they are an excellent fuel-efficient alternative to a boring little Civic or Corolla with better handling and chassis. The problem in Aust is that they are pretty rare; fuel was cheap in those days and so people just bought larger-engined cars if they were already forking out on a prestige marque.

Happy Driving!

Trigg

Where are you in the UK? The seats in my Gold car sound in better nick than yours, and will be spare when it gets scrapped in a couple of weeks.

I have to say, that third picture of your car looks great! The colours are amazing. I suggest you post it in Jeroen's photography section.

Trigg,

Welcome to the forum. She looks very nice, nice and original, just as I like them, and I've got seats just like yours, orange dust everywhere! Do you have the original radio cassette in? Mine has long gone, but would be curious to know what is authentic. I think I'll post a query.

Good luck
