My 318i (delayed post...)

Post by Hermes »

Hello co-E21-enthusiasts!

I owe this post to the forum - should have posted pictures long ago, but...

Anyway here it is (pictures taken last August, while on vacation and after having the car washed a bit)

It's a 4/1982 kastanienrot 315 converted to a 318i from the previous owner (I am the 3rd owner)

Extras:
A/C
Sunroof
Sport suspension (the gas absorbers need replacement)
Dogleg gearbox

Please tell me what you think about the car!!
I love it but its giving me so much troulbe lately - I am thinking to either sell it or keep it and fix it myself - at the moment defin. not reliable for a daily driver...

Best regards

Hey hermes, Tikanis, Kala? very nice car in good condition, couldnt help noticing the location you took the pictures in, takes me back to greece, where was the pictures taken, first picture looks little like pireas (port harbour) my first E21 was the same colour as yours!!

Now you need a nice set or alloy wheels!! make the car look even sweeter than carpusia! (hope its spelt right)

thnx for the input guys!!

I think I 'll keep the car and restore it gradually, currently looking for a E36 318is to buy as a daily driver (have spotted a 1993 red one - gonna have a look prob. this week)

@Alpina
Jimi, the pictures were taken in Skiathos, an island near Volos (located about in the middle of Greece on the east) I spent a week with my gf there and in Skopelos, an other island near Skiathos last August - v.nice places, loads of trees, stunning beaches & roads with many curves a pleasure to have the bimmer with me!!

hermes, it all sounds good!! id like to take my car on the island and drive, a few years back i went to an island called "hydra/hydro" and they wont allow any cars on the island theres only us humans and animals there, nothing but frsh fish everyday, i stayed on the island for 3 days and it was peacefull and fresh air.. no sound of cars e.t.c.

Need to come to the motherland this year hopefully..

Nice car as i says when you get the chance i would put some alloys would make it a nice looking car.... keep up the good work!!

The colour... I love it - though it needs to be repainted at some point - some rust (actually a hole) discovered in the trunk - and in the bottom corners of both front and rear windscreen (behind the colour).

About rims... I really fancy 15 x 7 M.I.M. alloys (ET 13). Have spotted a sweet set on Ebay, but the seller (German) refuses to send to Greece...

Here is the link to have look - tell me what you think
