Sill Skins

Hi All
It's been sometime (years) since I last posted. Hopefully a quick Q – are sill skins available for the E21? My searches have come up fruitless. If not how much labour do you estimate to replace the entire sills both sides? I'm wanting to get the car in best shape before committing to a respray.

Yes, at Walloth and Nesch, they have some pretty great reproductions, good quality. New inner sills are reproduced bij BMW, so you can get those at the dealer

Thanks Uwbuurman – sorry daft question are the outer sills = sill skin?

Well, no daft questions at all. Just beware, the skin implies that it is the outside, so the part that you can see below the door, when closed. The sill consists of an innerpart, that holds the electric wire harness on the right side, that holds the side of the carpet and the doorrubbers. Outersill is the part as described.

Beware, in the old days they had coverplates, that went over the sill, when rotten. You dont want that, you want the perfect fitting replacement part.
