Ode to the years of my 323i

Post by Marquis Rex »

After many requests, I thought I would post pics of my 323i over the years. I've owned the car since 1990.

The specifications of the car are extensive. Detailed spec for the car is covered in the article in Total BMW magazine 2002 issue and hasn't changed a great deal since then.
The last pictures are more recent and sport the 15 inch Alpinas.
The car is currently festering away in a car park in Ruesselsheim. This is pending me finding all the new suspension and body parts for 'the rebirth'- when the BMW will be rejuvenated :D

Very nice... top notch colour and looking good with the Alpina front spoiler and rims :-)

What tire size are you running on? Looks a bit big to me...
Did you make the exhausts yourself? If not, please let me know were you bought them  .

Think the difference between the 323i and the 323is is the small "s" on the boot

Well with all the mods I did, I wanted to HINT that something was different, but nothing too unsubtle...

With the 15 inch wheels I'm running 225/50 x16 at the rear and 205/50 x16 at the front. The different wheel sizes front to rear give the car its nose down stance, which I like.
The rear tyres fouled until I got the arches rolled.
The exhaust system was custom made in Essex by a specialist some years ago (usually specialise in Porsche stuff), although I doubt I'd use them again- they damaged my car and refuse to take responsibility and the tubular manifold kept fouling the steering column on corners as the engine tilted.

Thanks for the complements everyone! :D
The headlights are elipsoidal units out of a late E30, commonly refered to as 'smilers'- these are the ones that sit on plastic brackets.

I got my usual E21 headlight brackets modified to get them fitted.

I don't have any recent ones I'm afraid and the engine room is probably the least remarkable looking aspect of the car even though the engine IS heavily modified!
