I assume you don't like '80 BMW E21 race cars then? Here in Belgium an original E21 is worth sh*t and I personally think an original E21 looks nothing special to me. Just my 2 cents...

not really surprising, but im with verdi on this issue.

i would keep an old car completely stock only if it is completely mint, low km's, looked after example, otherwise why not go to town on it?

if given the option, not many people would not chose an ultra-reliable car with 300hp and race car handling, over a carburetted 2 litre with drum brakes and 13" wheels 8)
also, if the car is so mint you're not going to want to drive it, as you'll just add km's to it, scratch the paint, and wear out your original tyres. you may as well put it up on chassis stands in a museum.

I will still have bimmer logos and door handles. The biggest reason i dont have moldings is they would not fit on with the flares. We spent quite a bit of time getting it smooth, along with all the paneling on the rear end. So it should turn out really smooth when its done. I have been getting lots done the last few days. I should have another update soon.

Liking the project mate. It'll look mean when its done.
Racing green is a darker shade than on that BM there. Look at some old school Jaguars.

i had a rx2 mazda smoothed in british racing green , it was originally red and once painted dark green it looked smaller for some reason and you couldnt really see the curved shape of the car as well

My 2002tii racer was fitted with turbo arches and painted BMW lagoon green - an e36 colour - it looked awesome and really showed off the arches... Would look wicked on your e21. Good work mate!!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys! I do really like the Austin Martin green color, that could be a good choice.

Had some more time today to work on the car. Man this is tedious work, but im sure it will be worth all the hard work in the end :)

Some Picture:

Surface rust removed and ready for some body filler and primer.
Image

Rear smoothed up with almost all welds no longer visible. Then primered.

Hope to get some more done soon

go in double color scheme. uper part (roof, bonets and upper part of doors) in one color lower in other. arches leave black.
