You are right when you say that everybody drives on the normal BMW-alloys. That is the reason why I had been looking voor a good BBS set in 13" or even 15" even before you bought your E21.
But since my alloys and tires are still good, there is no rush.
Even I have to clean the engine bay soon
. You should use Valvoline Engine Bay cleaner for it and steam clean it at your local car-wash. It is very good stuff. After that apply WD-40 to the hoses, contacts etc.
I intend to polish the underside of the bonnet and the engine-bay as soon as the wheater improves.
