got the front wings on properly and lined up and then tom took a grinder to the brand new wings :O and cut the arches out of them so the front end is ready for the arches to be rivited on now just need to do the other rear arch and then the suspension work
and an exhaust for the mot
yeah like he said lol, well here are the pics of the cut arch's and i have now started the swap of the charade for a e30 baur on alpina's so will br beaking it for parts if anyone wants some alpina's will check em out first though. once the money starts to come in i can buy the parts i need and its rock n roll time! then i can hopefully make it for last ace cafe meet! fingers crossed peeps
sticky out wheels lol,
just got to do one more arch now then woop suspension time
this is the inside, does anyone know why there is this strengthing bar on just onside? bmw after thought maybe???
I'm hoping you're kidding about not knowing what that bar is - that contains the fuel pipe from the tanks to the filler cap.
Hope you haven't tried to cut it off.
Gulp...

haha love your work. my sledge hammer is my favourite tool. very helpful for inner guard work. and for undoing stubborn bolts!
keep the photos coming...
ps. if you're going to lower it lots, dont forget to use the hitty stick on the panels inside the inner front guards. you know the ones that are sharp and point down like a big dirty knife, ready to splice into your tyre when you hit a bump at high speed. that wouldnt be pretty!
i did have a think about that, think might but a door seal along it, although this will pick up water.
my front suspension is gonna be pretty bloody hard mind and i aint lowering the front too much or my splitter gonna get ripped off everywhere!!!
gonna do other rear arch and front suspension on thursday! i have made it my mission, will try and get front arch's rivited in place aswell so front end will be completely done, rear suspension is easy peasy, then its just the exhaust to do and refit some front lights on the car, then just minor engine bits for MOT, then tax then Ace cafe!!!!!! just not painted yet lol
and finally i got a little bit bored so i debaged my bonnet, most people on here will eat my alive for this but hey i dont care lol
race cars prob did, gonna get a sticker made, even the fibreglass is prob heavier looks rite proper motorsport, and i can also remove it easy peasy then
Probably changed your weight distribution by all the plop in the badge detent lol, there is a guy on eBay making 'glass bonnets though.
that will be the eventual way foward but just wanted to get it looking a little different at the mo. cant wait till i do some more work on her on thursday

if you track your car, you will soon realize that a wide tire on a skinny wheel can be very unprecise as the tires' shoulders will be round and flexy. But hey, it all depends on what is done with the car.
Sincerely, I wouldn't consider anything under 8" wide, and would aim at 8,5" if possible, on all four corners. That will allow to fit some 235.45.15
thanks tom, love your support, how much do you hate me for doing this to your old car lol
gonna dig out all the coilover kit tonight ready to start on the front tomorrow! crap forgot to borrow pop riviter, anal beads!!!!!!!
well atleast suspension will be done tomorrow as i got all kit for that
right, well i did fricking loads on car today which is good, although i have cracked the screen on my i phone so couldnt take pics while i was doing im afriad cos didnt wanna get oil in the cracks. will try and take some pics tomorrow though
fitted the front coilovers today, put new polyflex bumpstops and 400lb springs, cut some more of the arch out from the wing so allow for greater turning,
coated the insides of the archs in stone chip
rivited the front arches on and trimmed to fit
sprayed them and the front splitter in satin black so not bright yellow n e more.
just got rear arch to do and order the new rear springs and coilover kit so can lower the back
messenjah has now taken my wheels to get banded ready for the rears, should be done by next week with a bit of luck
gonna fit robs zorst on the car and then get car MOT'd looking on track so far
