As the US only had the E21 320i, many turbo conversions were done on that 4 cilinder engine, for example by Callaway and Dietel.
But Dietel did several 6 cilinder conversions as well including a very special project: the Dietel 345i using the E23 745i turbocharged M30 engine. Only one car was built and it’s still on the road. On the outside it is hard to miss this unique car with the flared wheel arches, big tailpipes and the deep front spoiler based on the Alpina example.
